DERlab news:
  • DERri project: Unique opportunity for laboratory access

The European project DERri is providing "free of charge" access to 13 major European facilities in the field of Distributed Energy Resources. Laboratory access as well as costs of travel and accomodation (according to the elegibility criteria)are funded by the European Union. The facilities and the services offered, the rules and procedures for the submission and selection of proposals are described in the DERri web site www.der-ri.net

DERlab Workshops on Distributed Energy Resources:
    DER Power System Services

To support a development towards more of the power system responsibility and power system services provided by DER units, as for the various 'Smart grids' concepts, there is a need to express and define the power systems' need for power system services in a general and technology independent way. And there is a need to agree on how to test the DER units' actual capabilities.

The workshops are aiming at creating a common view on this needs. Your point of view is important and your contribution welcome. Participation is free of charge.

The first workshop took place in April 2010 in combination with the Smart Grid Symposium at The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. The second workshop is planned in combination with the SmartGrids and E.Mobility conference, 20-21 October 2010 in Brussels. Details will follow.

  • Smart Grids Week 2010: Austrian Smart Grid Pioneers in Dialogue

    June 22-25, 2010, Salzburg, Austria

The aim of the Austrian annual SMART GRIDS WEEK is to present national initiatives and research projects as well as to lead a discussion on the topic among stakeholders from industry, research, administration and public authorities. Guest countries: Germany and Switzerland.
    - Presentation of Austrian pioneer regions
    - First concrete steps to implement the Smart Grids D-A-CH research cooperation between Germany (D), Austria (A) and Switzerland (CH)
    - Discussion of the activities of the Smart Grids D-A-CH countries in the context of European initiatives and demonstration projects
    - Presentation of current research tenders with project panel and consultancy for project submission

  • Integration of Renewable and Distributed Energy Resources

4th International Conference, December 06-10, 2010, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA

The 4th International Conference on the Integration of Renewable and Distributed Energy Resources aims at knowledge-sharing among North American, European, and Asian practitioners and researchers in the fields of renewable energy (RE) and distributed energy resources (DER). The conference will focus on the technical, market, and regulatory issues that challenge the integration of these sources into the grid.

EU flag

DERlab is the European Network of Excellence (NoE) of independent laboratories, working in the area of the integration of distributed energy resources (DER) into electricity grids and the preparation of related standards and test procedures.

DERlab Vision and Mission

Our Vision:

  • To be the reference-lab in Europe for sustainable integration
of distributed energy resources into power systems.

Our Mission:

  • Perform
    • tests,
    • pre-competitive and pre-normative research, as well as
    • training activities
  • supporting the transition towards more decentralised power generation.
